BoatEFX HDX Gimbals

Heavy duty

I recently updated the units on my boat and wanted to get some new brackets. These things are heavy duty, and beautifully finished. One of the reasons I went with the BoatEFX brackets are one, because I was going to use the BoatEFX locks, which are phenomenal, and two, because the Boat EFX brackets had pass through holes in their ends, and not the slots like on my stock Lowrance brackets.

The only thing is, the Boat EFX brackets are thicker than the stock brackets, which means the stock **** don't have as much thread going into the unit as they would with the stock brackets. I remedied that by making my own **** using a female **** threaded for M6 screws, (Lowrance threads are metric), and 30mm long M6 SS bolts that I cut the heads off of, and used stud mount sealant to secure the bolt into the ****. Worked like a charm and makes me feel a lot better about running in rough water, versus the stock ****.

Otherwise,,,, great stuff !!!

Pricey but worth it

Feel like my electronics are more secure now with the GraphLox but 65 bucks per lock is a lil high so that is the reason for 4 stars. Gimbal mounts are spot on and high quality.

I was impressed with the quality of the aluminum. However the powder coating and plastic notches on the gimble itself could have went through a little better quality control.
