Sea Hunt® Boat Trailer Steps

Hello, you asked, so I’m going to tell you. Starting with the price, I was apprehensive, I thought it a bit expensive which prevented me from purchasing it earlier. Decided to take the plunge and spent the $$. BoatEFX requested photos of my set up on the bow and winch post dimensions to ensure a proper fit. Sent many emails informing me of the progress and shipping details and received the steps way before I expected. The steps were heavier than I expected being aluminum. I opened the box to see that the steps were well packaged. I was pleasantly surprised to see the quality of appearance and workmanship which made the price acceptable. The quality is definitely impressive. There was some damage (chipping & scratches) to the powder coating on the hub. The assembly was not bad, 2 people makes it easier. I had to drill out all the holes that were used because the bolts would not fit due to the powder coat reducing the dimensions of the holes, no big deal. I had difficulty with the plate that mounted under the height adjustment bar which again was due to the added thickness of the powder coating. Overall I am pleased with the purchase and performance of the Alumasteps as I am old and fat and they make life safer and easier while using the boat ramp. I do have one thing that I am not happy with and that is the security of the steps. Unfortunately, I feel that these steps could be removed in a minute or less. I would like to see some means of tamper proofing available which would make this product truly a 5 star item. Definitely a great product.

When I saw these I was amazed. I’ve had a boat for years. Where I launch every time I want to go out I would have climb the winch post. The boat wasn’t as deep as the Sea Hunt. Before I discovered the BoatEFX step I had rigged an old step ladder to get on the boat. I have my own business and I’m on a ladder almost everyday. However at 66 the rig for the Sea Hunt was less than ideal. This simplifies the process and I be able to enjoy the boat for years to come.

Received and installed a 4 - step unit on the trailer for my Sea Hunt BX22.
Good instructions. Could be done with basic hand tools, but a cordless impact driver really accomplished getting everything tight.
Have yet to 'ramp test' it, but several tries up and down leaves no doubt they will work very well.
Currently inquiring about some sort of anti-theft addition to it. This would be a certain target at some remote ramp locations.

Absolutely love my new steps. Very easy to install . Installed it by myself would highly recommend this to anybody. I put this on a large larger 26 foot striper ocean boat. I only suggestion is I did purchase a total of six steps when you walk up you get to the top. It’s very unstable it needs to have Additionalbrace arm connected to the trailer. Unfortunately, I had to have my welder manufacture one. Otherwise recommend highly.

This is a great product! I was very pleased with the total process from ordering to delivery! Great communication! Now I can launch and load my boat by myself! Thanks guys!
